Pudupettai

Vethu.

If you had thought this movie is a typical Adi-thadi with minor tweaks of the director, then you are cent percent right. There is nothing new to the storyline, a bit more violence added to Sathyaraj-Manivannan combo's superhit, "Amaithippadai".

The first half was promising as is usual with Selvaraghavan's movies, Yuvan Shankar Raja's composition for the songs and the background music were impressive - thanks mainly to Sathyam theatre's awesome acoustic features. Among the songs, "Oru Naalil Vaazhkai inge" was a notable absentee in the movie.

The second half was dragging from the start. An unnecessary marriage stunt, pregnancy, father-son sentiment. The worst part was the last 10 minutes of the movie. I could hardly understand what was happening in the movie. It would have been slightly better if I had walked out of the theatre 10-15 minutes prior to the actual end of the movie.

The only reason to watch this movie is the good soundtrack scored by Yuvan. If any one has a good music system at home and the audio/ soundtrack CD of the movie, do not waste time and money by going to pudupettai - a 'pazhaiya sattai'
