Gadgets and foreign trips

Buying gadgets from abroad is ubiquitous.

I do not like that for two reasons. One, we get almost all the specialized gadgets in India itself - so why bother our friends and relatives. Two, the imported (or smuggled) product will not have warranty in India. If something goes wrong with the gadget, we might have to spend the money we saved. There is something called global warranty which would cost around Rs.5000 or so more. Again there would be so much written in fine print and so many prohibitive terms & conditions, it is only as good as having no warranty.
