It is after a break that I am back to blogging. It is more of total lack of work that caused me not to indulge in blogging. But having got some work now, it is time to blogging again.
The news article in CNN-IBN on Sanjay Dutt's judgment attracted my attention for one particular reason. It is not the popularity of the case, not the 14 year delay between the unfortunate event and judgment for the same, not that a goon turned Gandhigiri protagonist (in silver screen of course ;-)) getting sentenced for his bad boy days - but the sheer volume of the judgment given. The judgment of the 1993 blast runs for 4340 pages which is equal to 15 times the size of the new testament, 5 times the size of the old testament, 3 times the size of Merriam Webster Collegiate dictionary.
I know lawyers are a learned lot, but giving a 4340 page book (or document in their parlance) for a single case amounts to environmental destruction. This 4340 page book will be given to at least a dozen people and their lawyers to break their heads, wits and cash over it to end up in another case, another judgment book which in all probability would be much bigger. I presume buying shares of Ballarpur Industries, JK paper - considering the potential from the courts - would be a great idea.
All said and done, Brevity is the soul of wit.
